Excursion to the Ebogo Ecotourism Site

This day tour to visit one of the best biodiversity hot spots in the world starts from the City of Yaounde. We shall make a stopover at the Ekali village to visit the handmade furniture produced by the local people before continuation to the Ebogo village via Mbalmayo.

Ebogo is a magnificent ecotourism site located in the heart of the tropical rainforest. It offers visitors various attractions, such as: canoe rides along the river Nyong, discovery of the “Big over 300 years old Kisopo Tree” (of about 12 meters in diameter), the capture of a variety of butterflies, traditional fishing of various species of fish, viewing of tortoises breed in the fresh water of the River Nyong, trekking in the evergreen tropical rainforest, and vision of wild birds including parrots grouped up in an island.

If you want to talk of a site that is all wrapped up with ecotourism endowments, then talk about the Ebogo village,a breath taking respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The village boasts of some ecolodges and an outdoor restaurant that serves delicacies like kanga fish, chicken with fried plantain and potatoes that make your stay here longer and weighty.

Arriving the site, we shall board a canoe and take off for a cruise in the Nyong River to visit the forest and make a short trek in the forest to see the oldest and biggest tree in the world.

To crown the trip after returning to the village, we shall have an optional lunch of local noshin the restaurant before take-off for Yaounde and end of the tour.
