Yaounde is often nicknamed as ‘’the city of seven hills’’ These seven hills are: Akok Ndoue (967M), Mbog Ndum (900m), Minloa (966m), Ebaminala (1 005m), Messa (1 015m), Mbankolo (1 096m) and Febe (1 073m). Yaounde actually does not have only seven hills as it is encompassed by an overabundance of small mounts with several hiker trails such as Mt. Febe, Mt. Akoa Maria, Mt. Mbakolo, Mt. Eloumdem, just to name but a few. Some of these trails are famous for their history and the beautiful breathtaking view you observe from the summits.

Traveling on foot is an original, authentic and environmentally friendly way to enjoy a holiday in nature. Several summits in Yaounde will allow you to escape to altitude and experience the physical and psychological benefits of hiking and the Mt. Eloumdem is one of such summits.

This tour, to climb the Mount Eloumdem, is conceived for those who love the adrenaline, nature, heights, sights, and vegetation. Mount Eloumdem of 1200 metre of attitude is located some 7 kilometres from centre of Yaoundé. You shall have the opportunity to traverse the slope of the mountain and observe the decreasing intensity of human actions with increasing attitudes as we passed the settlements, farmlands, woodlands into the grasslands rugged summit. There is also a strong chance for you to see and appreciate some great wildlife, insects like butterflies, birds and have a pic-nick at the top of the mountain as we observe pilgrim seekers communion with their Creator.
