TOUR DESCRIPTION
SAFARI, MOUNTS ALANTIKA AND THE CHIEFDOMS OF CAMEROON (9 days/8 nights)
Reception at airport and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Fly to Garoua.Welcome by our local guide.City tour and visit of Mount Tengelen. Dinner and overnight.
Drive to Wangaï in the Alantika mountains. Visit the “vallée des rôniers” where the Koma people preserve the skulls of their ancestors and the sculptors of Mboulko. Overnight in tents erected in the local chief’s compound.
Day 4:Alantika – Poli
Climb up the mountains with porters to visit other Koma villages. Return to Wangaï and drive to Poli. Overnight.
Day 5:Poli – Garoua – Maroua
Drive to Maroua via Garoua. En route, visit the marbles of Bitzar and the Gorges of Kola. Overnight in Maroua.
Day 6:Maroua – Waza
Drive to the WazaNational Park; visit the park and overnight at theWaza lodge.
Drive to Rhumsiki via Oudjilla, Koza and Mokolo; overnight at Rhumsiki lodge.
Visit the Rhumsiki village, especially the crab fortune teller and the village blacksmith. Afternoon drive to Maroua; overnight.
Day 9:Maroua – Garoua – Douala
Drive to Garoua in time to board flight to Douala.
Day 10: Douala – Bandjoun – Koutaba
Quick Douala city tour and drive to Koutaba.Stop over at Bandjoun to visit the chief palace. Continue to Kouataba, arrival, installation in a hotel and overnight.
Day 11:Koutaba – Foumban – Bamenda
Excursion to Foumban to visit the Sultanate of Bamoun and the craft centre; continue tour to Bamenda and overnight.
Day 12:Bamenda
Excursion to Bafut to visit the chief’s palace, return to Bamenda and visit the local food market. Overnight.
Day 13:Bamenda – Limbe
Drive through to Limbe; visit the CDC plantations of rubber, oil palms and banana. Overnight
Day 14:Limbe – Buea – Limbe
Visit the Limbe wildlife centre and the botanic gardens. Drive to Buea to visit old German relics; return to Limbe for overnight.
Day 15:Limbe – Douala – Hexagon
Relax along the black sands beaches and later transfer to Douala for return flight. END
